It's official. I am old. My almost eighteen-year-old son has been accepted to college. We have all been waiting on pins and needles since some of his friends got their acceptances a month ago, but it happened this week. Dalin will be attending either BYU-Provo or BYU-Idaho in the fall. (I think BYU-I is just his mom's wishful thinking. I'm having some trouble dealing with this whole leaving home thing.) Since BYU is the alma mater of his parents, we are excited to have him go to Provo, but we will miss him. We have been so blessed to have him in our home for the last eighteen years. It is amazing all the feelings you have watching your firstborn grow up and leave. I have laughed and cried, but mostly I have cried. Not just sad tears, either. Dalin is a good man, and I am proud that he is mine.

Congratulations to Dalin!! And congrats to JeNeale for entering the blog world. I can't believe Dalin is old enough to be leaving home. I still put myself in the college category, and now seeing him enter I am most assuredly out:) See you guys soon.
I am finding that it isn't any easier with the second child leaving home. I keep telling myself that this is what I have spent all these years preparing him for.
oooooh, you *are* old! ;) What a handsome nephew.
It's great to see you on the blogosphere -- keep it up!!
Hey did my first comment show up!??!
I think I made some crack about you being old and my handsome nephew.
Glad you've joined the world of blogging -- you'll probably be way better at keeping it updated than I am.
Here's the deal: if you don't grade my grammar I won't grade your arguments. :)
Your child is going to college? The AARP just contacted me on your behalf. They wanted to let you know that you are now old enough to join.
p.s. Don't forget to drink your ensure.
I am very sad to not be around while everyone's children are growing up and developing their talents. Ronan got baptized on the 6th and not a single family member was able to come. I know Dugga will do great both in college and on his mission. He is a superb kid and I can't wait to see what he does with his life. Miss you JeNeale, and everyone. I love you. See you in about 6.5 months.
PS. Keep eyes open for teaching jobs somewhere out there.
Wow....I'll say you are old!!! Sheesh girl!!! Can't believe he is heading to college. Guess it will catch up to us prett soon too!
*sigh*
PS...Happy Birthday!!! Hope you had a GREAT day!!!
